The trial of former KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selim continues in the Special Court in The Hague.
Forensic expert John Clarke will continue his evidence in this court today.
In Wednesday’s statement, he said there was something unusual in the autopsy reports of some victims from which he drew conclusions.
The witness claimed that some of the marks of gunshot wounds on the victims were illogical and there was something unusual. He also claimed that he had no supporting diagram or photograph on which to base his conclusions.
“They seem illogical because the entry and exit wounds are very close to each other. The entry and exit wound is very unusual. That can happen sometimes – not that it doesn’t happen, but they wonder why the pathologist didn’t comment. If I look at a case like this and see that the bullet went in here and came out here, I would think that’s unusual and I would give an explanation for it. Maybe the pathologist was right in his findings, but I wonder why it wasn’t highlighted and why it wasn’t said that it was unusual?! “Why isn’t there an explanation for this?!” said Clarke.
