Rutte: NATO nuk është e

NATO is not involved in decisions made by member states such as the United States about employment in the armed forces based on diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) criteria, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on Thursday in Davos.

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump’s administration fired U.S. Coast Guard Commander Admiral Linda Lee Fagan, the first female uniformed leader of a branch of the armed forces.

Rutte said it was up to individual countries to assess their DEI employment programs within their armed forces.

“The Allies should decide that. The USA can decide that. NATO is not involved in this,” Rutte said in an interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

“NATO is involved in collective defense, ensuring that the 32 states can jointly face any enemy, any enemy, any adversary and ensures that he or she never attempts to conquer a square kilometer of NATO territory.” There is that NATO is involved, and everything else depends on the individual allies,” Rutte added, writes Reuters, reports Klankosova.tv.
