Millions of TikTok users in the United States will no longer be able to watch videos on the platform after a federal ban on the hugely popular app went into effect.
The company’s app was removed from popular app stores, including those of Apple and Google, on Saturday evening, while the website informed users that the short video platform was no longer available, writes Klankosova.tv.
When users opened the TikTok app on Saturday, they encountered a pop-up message that read, “Sorry, TikTok is currently unavailable.”
“A law banning TikTok has been passed in the US,” the message said. “Unfortunately, this means you cannot use TikTok at this time.”
