He comes from a family of athletes and began his career in the “Vertikal” club and then moved to “KB Feronikeli”. But in 2018 he made the big step and moved to the Kosovo team with the most trophies, “KB Prishtina,” writes Kosovapress.
This is Don Polloshka, one of the most prominent basketball players of the Kosovo Super League, who is currently defending the colors of the Gjakova team “KB Vellaznimi”.
“It’s the biggest Albanian team and the team with the most trophies in Kosovo.” I knew everyone there as staff, as players, we got along immediately because we came from Pristina, it was Andi Rashica, Edo [Edon Azemi]tribe [Fisnik Rugova] “I immediately felt at home and over time we made even more contacts and everything went well, I had no problems,” says Polloshka.
After three seasons in the capital, Polloshka changed teams and moved to “Vellaznimit”, but the adventure there did not start well. He had to undergo three operations within a year.
“I played the first game at the beginning of January and was injured in the second. The ACL [këputja e ligamenteve] It is known that it is a serious injury, among the injuries that last the longest, I had surgery in February, while at the end of May I had another operation on the appendix… At the end of August the same injury happened to me again happened, I tore my cruciate ligament again and in mid-September I absolutely had to have an operation if I wanted to continue my career, and I normally wanted to do that from September onwards [2023] until September [2024] the recovery took longer,” says Polloshka.
With a height of 1.75 cm, Polloshka is one of the smallest basketball players in the country, but this is not a problem for him in the face of his opponents.
He even says that this is an advantage in terms of movement and maneuvering with the ball.
“For me it is a priority in every way. Normal, that can play a role, but for me my size isn’t a big problem. “There are great players in the world who have played and are still playing, and it seems to me that basketball played with smaller players is coming back,” emphasizes Polloshka.
Despite being in exceptional form, Polloshka has not yet been invited to represent Kosovo in basketball, but he expects this to happen soon.

There it doesn’t depend on me, usually I want to play for the Kosovo representative, but it doesn’t depend on me whether I will be invited or not… First I do the work for the club “Vellaznimit”, then “For myself and at the very end I do it to get someone’s attention, and especially for the representative of Kosovo, it’s usually an honor and a privilege to be able to play,” says Polloshka.
He really appreciates the Kosovo Super League and says that the quality of the teams has increased so much that there is no club that is considered favorite for the championship title.
“With the arrival of Bora in the Super League, nobody knows who will beat who. From last place, Proton Cable Prizreni, to first place, Trepça, anyone can beat anyone. I hope it always stays that way, so that we only know who will be the champion at the end,” says Polloshka.
After 18 rounds played in the Super League, Vellaznimi has collected 28 points and is in fourth place in the standings of the elite of Kosovo basketball./A.Bytyqi/KP
