British police have seized a Tesla Cybertruck worth over 90,000 euros.
This is because these vehicles are not permitted on UK roads.
Officers in Whitefield, Greater Manchester, stopped the driver and impounded the three-ton vehicle, saying there were “legitimate concerns” about the safety of other road users, the Daily Mail reports.
The Elon Musk company’s large vehicle was launched in the United States in 2023. However, it is banned from British streets and cannot be purchased in the UK due to pedestrian safety concerns.

The seizure comes as Britain’s streets are flooded with €90,000 cyberbeasts that weigh more than 3,100kg, have a top speed of 210km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.7 seconds.
Photos of the seized vehicle show it with the inscription “Cyberbeast” (CyberBisha) and Albanian license plates.
In a post on social media, Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers from the GMP Transport Unit stopped this Tesla Cybertruck in Whitefield last night. The driver was a permanent resident of the UK but the vehicle was registered and insured overseas, which is prohibited in the UK.”
“The Tesla Cybertruck is not road legal in the UK and does not have a certificate of compliance,” police said.
“Although this may seem trivial to some, there are legitimate concerns about the safety of other road users or pedestrians if they are involved in a collision with a Cybertruck,” police added.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the owner of the vehicle must provide proof of correct ownership and insurance in order for the car to be released.
If proof is not provided within 14 days, the vehicle will be scrapped or auctioned.
One of the reasons the car doesn’t comply with UK road safety laws is its all-red indicators and brake lights.

Vehicles registered for use on UK roads must have amber indicators and red brake lights.
Other concerns include the vehicle’s rugged exterior and heavy weight, making it unsuitable for British roads.
Youtuber Yiannimize featured several gray Cybertrucks on his channel last month, all of which had Albanian number plates, as the vehicles are not allowed to be registered in the UK.
In another clip, the influencer tries to make it “legal on British roads” by changing the color of the turn signals from red to yellow.
However, experts warn that the vehicle’s sharp edges make it comparable to a knife hurtling towards pedestrians.
